Due to extended power outages in the Buffalo Niagara Metro Area, the deadline for proposals has been extended to: October 23, 2006 - 4:00 p.m.
USA Niagara Development Corporation, a subsidiary of the New York State Urban Development Corporation d/b/a/ Empire State Development Corporation, acting in concert with the City of Niagara Falls, requests proposals from qualified engineering, planning, landscape/architectural/ urban design, and economic consultants and/or teams for planning services related to the development of a strategic action program for the revitalization of the Buffalo Avenue Heritage District in Niagara Falls, New York. The Project involves taking actions to facilitate revitalization of the neighborhood as a distinct and unique development area within Downtown Niagara Falls.
The consultant scope of services includes inventory and mapping of various development characteristics of the study area; facilitation of public workshops to identify community objectives for the development of the area; identification of a program of infrastructure improvements; development of a targeted incentive program for small business development; development of urban/architectural design guidelines; and the formulation of prototype developments to illustrate revitalization scenarios. The work will conclude with a public meeting to outline findings to the community.
