Crowne Plaza - Hotel Investment Project (formally the Holiday Inn Select)

A $34 Million hotel investment for downtown Niagara Falls, represents the largest, private, non-gaming investment since USA Niagara’s formation in 2001.
The project will revitalize the 400-room Holiday Inn Select property while creating 101 jobs over the next three years and retaining 85 existing jobs.
The project includes $8 million in substantial upgrades including deluxe guestroom improvements, renovated lobby and arrival space, a lifestyle and retail center, spa, restaurant/pub and banquet space. The project is eligible for up to $6 million from the State, which includes funding through the Empire Opportunity Fund, and program funds through USA Niagara and Empire State Development. The public investment is restricted to reimburse the developer for capital improvements of the project.
In December 2006, Starbucks - one of the nations largest coffee shop chains opened within the Crowne Plaza located on the corner of Third and Old Falls Street. In early 2007, the Old Falls Street Bar & Grill opened its doors and includes a full service bar and restaurant with over 20 high-definition TV's and a video projection screen for larger audience sports viewing.
